Wabi-Sabi, The Collective

I should be doing something for work today or blog about a makeup that is also a skincare product but food distracts me!  Right now I'm eating a hot and hearty soup perfect for my colds ((insert tissue paper in the nostril, ooops sorry (not sorry ahahaha)).

Let's talk about Ramen Padilla and Fernando Pho Jr.

This is from Wabi-Sabi.  They have this noodle wars for ramen lovers (the Ramen Padilla side) and pho lovers (Fernando Pho Jr.) hehehe quite cute names deriving from famous Philippine action stars and well, the place reminds me of noodle house from action movies.

My brother ordered Shoyu Ramen (of course) which I think is a bit lonely compared to what Naruto usually get at Ichiraku...

...but there's a reason behind it that I only discovered just now....it's vegetarian!  I had a mini chopstick fight with my brother for me to grab some of the noodles and taste his ramen...it's not as flavorful as regular ramens but it's also not bland (which is usually what I taste when I eat a vegetarian dish (sorry to all vegetarians who read this but I'm not use to eating all vegie food)).

And since my brother ordered the Shoyu, I have to order something else and got the Vietnamese Pho.

I don't know what's the rationale behind this but everytime I visit a new restaurant/fast food store, I have to order something else even if what my companion ordered is what I really like.  Anyway, I'm the one craving for ramen when we went to Wabi-Sabi but their Miso Ramen is only available on certain days and so I ended up with having the Pho.  Considering that it is vegetarian, it's actually tasty...it's herby because of the basil and has this clean and straight taste...I can't finish the whole bowl though because I'm craving for a soup that has a lot of kick.

and Gyoza!!!!! I love gyoza that after I tasted it for the first from a Japanese restaurant/fast food store, I scour the net to get a nice, easy to follow recipe and man it takes a lot of time to make it because of the wrapping and frying and steaming at the same time but it's all worth it and now I wish I have a lot of time and patience to make 50 pieces again :D  After making one though, it became hard for me to find a resto that serves them according to my liking like for example from Wabi-Sabi, the "wrapper' is not crispy at the bottom and almost transparent (because of the steaming) at the top but it's okay...at least I don't need to make war for hours in the kitchen and this 3 pieces is very affordable.

And then drowning everything with a light version of Thai Milk Tea.  Light because I already tasted one from a authentic Thai restaurant and it's really...let's just say powerful :P

Wabi-Sabi is in The Collective, Makati City.

TonyMoly Latte Pore Pack

Cute, TonyMoly really gave a big effort on the packaging of this Latte Art Milk-Cacao Pore pack I even don't want to mix the pack at first to retain the brown and white swirl effect.  I have this on right now and I challenged myself that I could finish this post before the pack hardens and ready to be rinse off.

According to the packaging this cacao in cream mask contains Soft Milk Cream that tightens and moisturizes the skin, Cacao Pack from Ghana which has an excellent sebum-absorbing function and can also remove impurities from the pores,  Marshmallow extract (I also can't believe it) that provides excellent moisturizing effects to the skin.  It also has Peppermint and White Willow extracts to remove dead skin cells and to tighten pores.

It even has this spatula that looks like a teaspoon on top, when I first saw this I was like oh my that's so cute but now I think I prefer packaging that are simple unpretentious.  Going back to the review, this pore pack has a heating effect upon application that slowly "cools down" the longer you put it on the skin.  And as it "cools down", I can feel that the pack is hardening and it's as if it's lifting my face and tightening my pores which for me is awesome.

Directions on how to use (which I usually don't follow :P):
"After washing your face, apply our toner to prepare the skin for the next step in skin care.  Mix the cacao pack and milk cream in a 1:1 ratio and apply the mixture to the entire face, avoiding the skin around eyes and mouth.  Leave it on for 10~15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.  After opening the product for the first time, it is more convenient to mix the milk and cacao parts with the spatula contained in the box before use.  (Use 1~2 times a week)."

I leave this pack on sometimes for 30 minutes sometimes less (when I'm in the shower and wanted to have a pore pack but in a hurry mode) then I just usually wash it with tap water and when it's tough to remove it, I usually use washcloth.

What I like about this pack is that it leaves my skin somehow moisturize not like other packs that I tried that right after I pat my face dry it's like a dried sponge gasping for water so I guess the marshmallow extract is effective!  Of course the milk also did a big part in the moisturizing area.  I especially use this whenever I have mini zits or it's the time of the month and pimples are inevitable and it does help in "drying" them out (together with my tea tree oil).

And I can't smile now because the pore pack is already hard so I guess I'm done with this post :D

What's Up! This is for September!

Hello!!!!!  It's been awhile and it seems like I haven't been blogging for months but I look into my calender it's only a couple of weeks.  Since I've so busy and stressed out (this is the first time that I've encountered this level of madness that I feel in my working life), I can't blog and always with my bed and I tell you we have an amazing! relationship :D

As a catch up here's a bit of what I've been up to for a couple of months (mostly eating).

After celebrating at RUB, we went to Ayala Triangle Park for some strolling and dessert.  If you're following my Instagram then you already seen the magenta trees that I edited using Photo Studio.  Great ice cream cake from Caramia (the cake was already sliced, so I didn't have the chance to take a photo of the whole lovely cake) as a dessert and birthday cake courtesy of my family.  And an underground mural blurry photo, hopefully it's okay to post this :D

I went back to yoga class last September and went to Yoga Bliss Makati branch.  Reunited with Mary Grace because I had a great time when one of my close friend and I catch up in one of their branches this time I dine in Greenbelt.  It's not my first time in this mall but it's the first that I got into the center of it, nice place and relaxing too with all the plants and pond and fishes.

More eating and catching up with friends in Mom and Tina's with workmates.  Then St.  Marc Cafe with some good college friends, afterwards we just decided to watch a movie (Stay, I believe) and oh I also watch part two of Rorouni Kenshin.

Made some friends with some monster in The Collective Makati.  Cool place with all the graffiti and small shops (the ukelele, record and  this natural ingredients shops stucked in my mind).  Ate ramen, gyoza and pho in Wabi - Sabi, finally (it was close the first time we check the place).

Hope you are having a chill Sunday!
