Mustache, I mean Pore Strips

It's been awhile since I use pore strips since I noticed that the more I use them the more blackheads and whiteheads come back with vengeance or maybe my skin is just so clogged with dirt and hardened sebum...or maybe both?

Here are three strips that I used for the last couple of weeks, all of them are made from Korea even though the other one is a Filipino brand.

Opening the packets before hand saved me from smelling the burning scent of the TheFaceShop and Bench strips.  The It's Skin has an Eskinol smell which is more on the citrucy side.

It's Skin was the weakest remover from the three.  It didn't remove my blackheads plus whiteheads are sticking out that extra plucking is needed.  What I like about it though is that it has a bit of a cooling sensation.

According to the packaging "The Black Head Clear Nose Sheet with Charcoal and Witch Hazel extracts keep your nose skin soft and refreshed.  This product is designed to clean your noseby removing ugly black heads and cleansing clogged pores.  It also makes your skin dramatically clear and smooth"~not all true in my opinion, I'm just glad that it doesn't hurt to use this.

Next is from the TheFaceShop which I got as a freebie.  This one is the smelliest from the 3 and also the weakest that when I started to remove it from my nose it also started to tear.  This is a neutral one meaning it does remove blackheads and whiteheads but there would still be remainder to work on.  It almost have the same promise as It's Skin's but my nose is still not smooth as my forearm :P

Lastly, Bench.  This is the most effective but also the most painful to use (although very tolerable kind of pain, I'm talking pore strip stripping kind of pain here).  It did remove most of my blackheads even the big and stubborn ones and whiteheads but it's quite drying so better use moisturizer afterwards.  Like that it also has all the necessary information in the language that I can understand in its packaging and that the strip itself is made of a soft kind of material.  Like the TheFaceShop's, this also has a burning smell but more on the lighter side and again opening the packets beforehand helps in diminishing the weird scent.

Have a wonderful weekend :)

Innisfree It's Real Tea Tree Mask and Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack

I just have a haircut that makes my brother continuously tease me saying that I can now be part of "that's my tomboy" contest in Showtime.  I showed the hair-cutter the picture below and he/she was shocked and ask me if I'm sure about it and said I'm pretty pretty sure about it (my hair is shoulder length and I think 10 to 12 inches of hair was cut).  But it seems like she assumed that I wanted my hair really really short that the shortest piece of my hair now is in my eyebrows, yikes!  Anyway in 2 weeks time maybe, my haircut will look like what the below lovely girl is sporting.

The word "assumed" keep me babbling because if there's one variant of mask that I think can help me get rid of pimples or redness on my face , it's gotta be tea tree.  I always assumed that it can dry out zits and tame the redness and itchiness of my allergies or small bumps on my face.

I tried the Innisfree it's real tea tree mask yesterday and it's time to judge it's efficacy.

Innisfree It's Real Tea Tree Mask
Regular price 950 won/$1
20ml of essence
Got it from Kkochi Pida online store for P35

It says in the packaging that it has tea tree complex and green complex and has this description that is actually the same with the rest of Innisfree masks under It's Real line but we all know that tea tree variant soothes troubled skin.

For the photo of the mask sheet, you can just go to my Avocado variant post.  Let's just go straight to the smell which is very horrible, it's alcohol to the max.  I have a small bottle of tea tree oil and the essence of this mask doesn't smell like it.

Another horrible thing about this mask is that the essence is sticky and when I pat the excess (when I already removed the mask sheet off my face), it got stickier and my face looks oily and I wanted to wash my face but for the sake of knowing if this mask works, I sleep with a sticky face.

Luckily, this mask somehow helped in soothing the bumps and redness on my face and the pimple that I have on my cheeks got smaller and less angry.  My face is quite moisturized too considering that it's tea tree which usually dries out skin.  Effective mask but I just really hate the strong alcohol smell.

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack
Regular price 500won/$.49
Got it from Bhappywithme for P20

Moving on to another Innisfree product, I tried just now the Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack that has scoria and green complex.  It's a nose strip but based on the back of the packaging, it can also be used on the chin and forehead and I'm thinking that maybe I can also use it in my cheeks to remove whiteheads.

everything in korean

The strip is quite different with others that I tried; wherein they are shape in a weird way to better fit the nostril area, this one however just have a simple curve cut at the top and just straight with 3 cuts at the bottom (the three extra cut didn't help much though).

and this is how the strip looks like

Since there's no english instruction on how to use this thing on the packaging, I just use it the way I use my regular pore strips that is wetting the nose area and putting the sticky part on it.  After like more or less a minute, I can feel some heat on my nose and also the strip started to harden.  I waited 15 minutes before stripping the strip off.

There are some blackheads that are sticking out and needed to be pluck but overall this pore strip/nose pack removes the majority of my blackheads and whiteheads that almost all the area of the strip is pack with those nasty -heads.

That's it!

Thanks for reading. Till then. Bye!

Holika Holika Pig-nose Clear Black Head Perfect Sticker

Lover of Pink?  Then you'll probably love this pore strip from Holika Holika.
Holika Holika Pig-nose clear black head Perfect Sticker
got it for P20 from bhappy with me
more or less $4 in other online shops for 10 sheets
The descriptions, instructions and ingredients are all in korean so I'll just share with you what I found in Holika Holika Indonesia

"Did you know there are no blackheads on the nose of a pig? And guess what else? You don’t have to either! Say goodbye to your blackheads with Pig Nose Clear Series. This series gets rid of blackheads that are deep-rooted in pores and makes your nose soft and fair. Pig Nose Clear Blackhead Perfect Sticker is a disposable pink colored nose strip that removes whiteheads, blackheads, and dead skin cells. The pink clay ingredient helps absorb sebum and eliminates blackheads. This strip will remove all unwanted impurities from your nose at once, leaving it smooth and clear."

Directions: After washing face, wet the nose with water. Place strip on nose and smooth down. Remove strip after 10-15 minutes. Take it off from outside edge. Use once to twice a week.

Benefits:
Removes Blackheads
Removes Whiteheads
Removes Dead Skin Cells
Absorbs Sebum

For months; aside from scrubbing my face, I haven't used pore strips or pack because I do not have a pore closing essence.  Many of you might find closing pore essence unnecessary but not for me because I noticed that my pores began to be visible when I started using pore strips. But the time has come for me to once again face the reality that my nose area badly needed it as unwelcome inhabitants namely white and blackheads enjoy the comfort it gives.
told you it's pink
front is white
The color really surprises me,  I'm used to seeing black or white pore strips.  Anyway take a great look at the pink part (if you're a lover of pink) because you'll not going to like it the second time that you'll see it (if you're not into gross things).  Yep, you'll apply the pink part unto your skin and it'll do everything it can to suck (remove) the whiteheads and blackheads (Pink Power!).

Warning: Skip picture if you don't like seeing gross thing.  Zoom if you like to see whiteheads and blackheads.  I'll make the pic smaller than normal.
Squatters evicted!
That's a lot!  But there are still some stubborn whiteheads and blackheads left poking out of my nose that needs to be pluck.  Overall it did a good job without the burning smell and stinging and drying sensation and the shape of the strip perfectly covers my nose area.

So that's my 2 cents on the pink pore strip from Holika Holika.

Thanks for reading.  Till then.  Bye!
