August 2014: HAUL

Stressed?  Yes, but most importantly it's my birthday month so I allowed myself to spend on some things (not all, I have to be practical).  First stop is Forever21.  I almost got a leather jacket and another boots (which is the one that I've been eyeing in F21 US site) but I have to think thrice and weigh every pros and cons and cons won (I don't know how to rock leather in a warm humid weather).

So I pick some tops, just simple and basic ones that can be dress down or up.  I just love how the white shirt camouflages itself as formal with those texture (I remember that my mom has one of these just sitting in her closet only better when I was a kid and now I wish I kept and restore it.
I am always attracted to shirts with stripes...they just look nautical and refreshing and put together so I can't pass on the navy blue stripes shirt.  And when I got home I just realized that the two tops that I got from F21 are way pricier than my pants and was kinda a happy that I got another top (the flowery one) for just 250 pesos (that's less than $5) from a tiangge (hooray for tiannges!).

Still from Forever21, I got two black pants (although in the photo it's like dark blue) because they are on a reduced price and they almost perfectly fit me well (I can't find the perfect pants for my body type...I have weird body structure if you are wondering why).  They also already come with slim belts and I can roll the hem up (for a chic look) or down and they still look good.  They set great on my hips (not too high nor low), they have nice fabric and they are comfortable to wear!

I also bought a pair of Chucks because I miss them (I have 4 pairs before, I think) although I will only wear them on Friday's and maybe Sunday's too.  And another cheap shoes that I can use when walking going to work.

Other stuff that I bought are the plastic storage for my skincare products and makeup and them some other stuff recommended by my sister.  The A Bonne Spa Milk Salt is a cult favorite.  The Black Beauty Hot Oil with Vitamin E is my sister's happiness.  And the The Body Shop's hand cream are so light I got three (gave one to my sister) when I redeemed all my points and voucher from being ever so loyal with The Body Shop Philippines, I only paid 30 pesos, that's happiness for me!

Well, in just a day or two it's already September~"BER" months ,I can already smell christmas (why so fast!!!!).

June 2014 Haul: I'm Still Alive

Like the plant above which everyone think is already dead, I'm still alive!  Just got busy with paper works which is just a big pain in the neck, but it's okay since I like the reason behind why I'm doing paperworks.  Anway, haul time and I'm happy to report that I accumulated only a few items (but I'm going to buy lots of clothes...I already bought 3 items and planning to grab more basics).

Another body butter from The Body Shop and I'm so happy because I got it for free that I gave my mini shea body whip lotion to my sister and I'm planning to also give the olive body butter to someone who have dry/sensitive skin like me.  The generic konjac sponge (around $1.25) is my alternative to Olay Regenerist Cleansing System which I can't use on a daily basis.  And since someone went to Korea and don't mind buying stuff for me, I ask for the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Black Heat Out Balm which is luckily on sale (I think it's only aroun $3.50).

That same friend also brought home the above tea which I thought are in teabags and was so surprised to find them in granules meaning it's an instant tea.  And lastly, something for my toe nails to avoid blister and further damage to their abnormalities (I have a weird feet, but that's okay).

That's it, I'm amazed at my self control this month!

The Body Shop White Musk

My favorite scent in The Body Shop would have to go to white musk.  The unexplainable concoction of whatever ingredients just leaves me amused and bewildered.  Later did I know that originally musk scent is an odor from a gland of a male musk deer and I was like "what the hell".

Luckily, the one from The Body Shop is artificial and thus no animal was harm in obtaining the wonderful scent.

The Body Shop White Musk

December last year while I'm carelessly walking in the  mall, I decided to shop for anything and the first thing that came into my mind was the cocoa range from The Body Shop (I'm so obsessed with cocoa before for my skin).  It stressed me out then to know that it was out of stock and I'm ready to outpour a tantrum to whoever comes my way (luckily, I suppressed the feeling).  With a blurry mind, I stare blankly into a shelf full of assorted colored boxes and decided to get the violet one since I remember liking the scent of a violet bottled body wash.

White Musk Sumptuous Silk Shower Gel

And this shower gel started it all!  This one is more on the "woodsy" side and lathers well if used with a bath lily.  It does leave my skin subtly scented but fades away by the time I put a lotion on.

The Body Sop White Musk Smooth Satin Body Lotion
The Body Shop White Musk Voluptuous Velvet Body Creme

Both the lotion and the body creme lightly moisturizes my dry skin that most of the time I used both before I go to work rather than before I sleep which makes me sweat  a little more than when I normally used a korean body lotion.  The scent of this two are more on the flowery side.  Sorry The Body Shop but the White Musk Voluptous Velvet Body Creme is not velvety enough for me.

the creamy look of the velvet body creme

Got puzzled to find bottles of body spray and perfume when I opened the box when I got home because I'm not really a perfume or a cologne person and in short I buy things carelessly and I'm an impulsive buyer but I guess the below is a comfort in a bottle because I just love the unexplainable smell of it!

White Musk Eau De Toilette
From fragrantica.com:

White Musk is a comfortable and velvety female fragrance, dedicated to every woman and perfect for every moment and occasion. It opens with notes of ylang-ylang, galbanum and basil, followed by the heart of jasmine, rose, musk and lily, and settling at the base dominated by musk along with jasmine, rose, iris, amber, patchouli, vetiver, peach, oakmoss and vanilla.

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy and Macadamia Body Butter Duo

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Polish and Macadamia Body Butter Duo

It's already been a year since I started to love to hoard from The Body Shop when they go on sale.  Thankfully I somehow stopped myself from getting anything whenever my sister goes to the shop last third quarter of the year.  But by now, my The Body Shop resources; especially the body butters, are depleting and I'm actually praying that they will go on a bonggang sale come January 2014 (if my memory serves me right, they usually sell the Christmas themed products at a 50% discount so I'm preparing my money for the Ginger Sparkle Body Polish *all smiles*).  I got these two The Body Shop products:  Cranberry Joy Body Polish and Macadamia Body Butter Duo, early this year and late last year at a discount around 40% or 50%.

Macadamia Body Butter Duo

If the face has a combi skin type, so is the body.  Mine is normal to dry sometimes dry to very dry so having this duo body butters is a great idea as I can addressed whatever the condition of my body skin.  Well this body butter is, well... moisturizing just like the other body butters from the body shop (I don't know what else to say) although the thicker part (the more brownish one in the pic) is more heavy and more moisturizing than the olive or shea variant.  The smell is something seductive, yes it's nutty but it also have some kind of silkiness or "sultryness" (I know there's no such word as this) to it.

red beads

I read some reviews of Cranberry Joy body polish and most complained about the smell.  I generally like the cranberry smell of this one as it's something warm and comforting although I have to agree with others that it somehow reminds of a fruit cake with a lot of brandy of it (well it's a christmas themed product).  Well if you like to livin up the smell of this then why not add some lemon juice to it?  I accidentally discovered the beautiful combination of the two when I decided to rub the excess lemon juice that I have in my skin then after a minute, used the Cranberry Body Polish (well because I'm taking a bath) and my oh my the smell is so gorgeous:  it's something refreshing and joyful and comforting at the same.  Plus the lemon juice helps in softening and brightening the skin too so if you have these two at your home and in the mood to experiment, then why not try the lemon and cranberry combo.

Again and again (I guess this is the third time that I'm saying this whenever I post something about body polish), body polish is a convenient product for me as it washes the dirt off my skin plus it also mildly exfoliate it with the help of different kinds of natural beads, I actually don't what they are made off but I love every bit of them.  So far, Ginger Sparkle is my favorite body polish from The Body Shop mainly because of the smell.

September 2013 Haul: A Little of Some Things

My sister commented that the buttons on my polo shirt looks like christmas lights the other day.  Can't completely relate to her statement because for me they are just golden small buttonss.  Me thinks:  "she's thinking Christmas!"

-Ber months and in less than 100 days, Christmas and holiday season na ulit!  I usually buy random stuff all year round so I don't know why I'm saying this...maybe because I spend without being guilty of spending because Christmas is just around the corner?  Anyway, here's some random stuff that I bought for the month of September.

random stuff from Etude House, Watsons, Bench and The Body Shop

Small to many maybe but this haul made another hole in my wallet.  Let's start with my lonely Etude House loot.

Moistfull Collagen Emulsion,  Apricot Stick, Styling Eye Liner

20% off! Oh yeah, thanks Etude.  Summer here in the Philippines and I'm already making my list on what to  buy on Etude House once their FB fanpage reaches 200,000 likes.  Unfortunately, summer has ended and rain drops are already falling but no sale yet and I keep on crossing the items on my list until there's none to cross.  A miracle happen though in the end days of August because the page only needs 7 likes when I checked it and almost every prince and princess of Etude House is commenting about the "momentous event".  Made a list again for the sale and again as weeks goes by, I keep on crossing and revising my list.

I posted this immediately ahahaha

Finally, I settled with a tinted lip balm, an eyeliner, wonderpore brush, cotton pads and silicone bands but replaced them with hair treatment  and masks (last minute revision) and off I went to SM Makati.  Sadly, the kiosk of Etude House there got smaller and there's no wonderpore brush which is what I'm excited about,  I'm about to walk away when I told myself, "Hey, you know what?  Just grab that emulsion for the sake of buying something and to uplift your morale.  I know it's a long story but that's the "history' of my lonely threesome Etude House haul plus of course I got a free mask.

Watsons and Bench

Hair Color pack from Glam (I hope you still remember the girl in the pic),  Evas Vitamin Hand Lotion and Bench Body Scrub are repurchases because they're cheap yet works really well.  Just a little upset with the price of the Evas hand lotion because it went up by 30 pesos in just a small span of time.  And I believe the most expensive in this group is the deodorant, can you believe that?  It caught my attention because it's made of tawas but in a stick and it's heavy (and expensive too).

from my excited sister 's viber

I was on a vacation when my sister texted me that she wanted to avail the BPI's promo of buy 1 take 1 of all the gift sets in The Body Shop.  When she vibered the photo I was like, huh? yan lang and you paid thousands?  (huh? that's it and you paid thousands).

Shea Body Whip and Olive Shower Gel

My ignorance of the different products of The Body Shop made me underestimate the price of the set because the body whip is actually pricier than regular lotions as it claims to be light and non-greasy...hmmm I think I'll reserve it for summer time next year (I still have apple lotion pa naman..teehee).

So these are the additions to my mini department store.  Have you gone shopping lately in preparation for the holidays?  I bet there would be a lot of sales and promos this coming paydays, so let's chain our wallets okay?

Thanks for reading. Till then. Bye!

The Body Shop Peach and Sweet Lemon

Whenever I hear summer, fruits always come to my mind.  So I waited for summer before I can use 2 fruit theme products from the The Body Shop even if I bought them 6 months before.

It's now rainy season now in the Philippines but the peach lotion and sweet lemon body butter became my dryness buster (combating the el niño of my body) during the summer season.

Surprisingly, the Peach Body Lotion (not the vineyard peach which I think made this lotion extinct from the shelves of the body shop) is light and is absorbed quickly by my body.

I initially thought that it would be greasy under the heat of the sun which made me used it at night the first time but it seems one swipe is not enough so I used it during daytime and well my daytime body liked it.   The peach scent is heavenly too, not too sweet not too strong and doesn't easily fade away.

The only con I can think of is that when I'm out under the sun for too long, it makes me sweat more than usual.  Color is subtle pinkish orangey peachy.

my body moisturizers over the summer
The Sweet Lemon Body Butter on the other hand is perfect for summer nights.  Not too greasy too and the consistency is like of that Olive variant only it's light yellowish in color(my post can be found here).

Smell reminds be of frutos or sugus candies but it also has a plastic-like smell maybe because I stock it for a very long time and the one that I got is the old version.  But if I disregard that smell and focus on the fruit part then it's very refreshing.

While it's perfect for summer nights, I think it's moisturizing effect is not enough on colder weather (better use the Shea or the Olive variant).

Thanks for reading. Till then. Bye!

The Body Shop Vitamin E

Early this year, I managed to find a good deal with the The Body Shop and snatch a box of their Vitamin E range (not more than P1000) which I used last May.

I'll just be straightforward so tet's start with the wash and the brush.

The facial wash was really good.  It removes dirt and make-up (except waterproof) and it didn't irritate my skin plus the moisturising part is also good.  Smell is unexplainable, but just imagine the facial washes that you buy in groceries or drugstores (nothing really special with the smell).  It's light pink in color and the texture is not too thick but not too watery too.  My only complain is just it doesn't bubble much (I like bubbles) and that's where the brush enter.

I only used the brush in making bubbles when I'm using the Vitamin E facial wash because it's too harsh for my skin.  It's made of plastic...not just plastic but a hard plastic and it's hard to handle it too, so I totally hate it.

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash and a small brush

Links from The Body Shop USA can be found here and here.  Below is the close-up pic of the brush.

my face totally hate this small brush
Next are the creams.  I expected them to be heavy on the face and The Body Shop didn't dissappoint me.  They are indeed heavy on the face.  What I hated the most though is that these two manged to give my face some irritating small bumps in just two days.  I stop for a week, the bumps are gone so I use them again and poof the bumps are back.  So after two weeks of testing, I gave up on using it on my face.  My body says otherwise though.  My body loves these too especially my back and legs.  The Vitamin E creams greatly helped in removing the scars from acne ang ingrown plus I like how they moisturized and nourished the driest part of my skin.

Day Cream and Night Cream
The night cream is heavier and thicker by the way while the day cream is more runnier and softer than the former.  Both are light pink in color and are heavy on the skin (but do please consider the weather in the Philippines).  Smell is torelable and nothing irritating.  Link can be found here and here.

left is the day cream, right is the night cream

Well it's payday, it's the end of the month and summer season is ending soon (well I hope) so Henry Sy, I mean SM malls are on sale.  Fine, I bought some stuff again, GRR.

I can't resist the apple smell of the shower gel, it's sooo good and refreshing.
green apple in my shower gel and lotion
Let's see if this oil can justify it's cost/price.
beautifying oil
After asking 3 asking Maybelline kiosk, I finally found you Baby Skin and lucky that it's on sale.  For 30 seconds I hate this but 30 seconds after, I consider it a friend.
the price is so affordable!!!

The Body Shop Acai + Moringa

I remember the time when I started this blog and 2 of my friends who knows read my first few posts (that was before) and said that it seems like I'm having a dual personality.  In reality the girl behind Arya De Guzman is a bit serious and seldom cracks a joke but who wants a blog with a green, yellow, baby blue and pink background with too many serious words?  Weird?  If yes, then this product is also weird.
The Body Shop Body Butter Duo Floral Acai/Acai Floral
Moisturize your skin with this twin pot that contains two types of moisture: a light cream for where skin needs less hydration and a rich cream for drier areas like elbows and knees. It has an exotic, intriguing scent.
For a
ll skin typesProvides 24-hour hydration Leaves skin feeling soft all over Exotic, intriguing scent
$20
I started using this mid February with a mindset that the thicker part is perfect for the Valentine/Christmas~sy weather (Philippine weather has been strange for a couple of years) while the lighter/liquidy part can welcome the exciting heat of the sun.  And I'm correct (yay), I only have few left so pardon the almost tub.
well, this will be included in my April empties!
The one with the lighter shade is the liquidy part which is comparable to the texture of the Olive Body Butter while the darker one is like the Shea.  Both have the same scent which is citrusy with just a hint of flower (yup, the citrus aroma envelopes and surpasses the floral scent), The Body Shop defined it as an exotic, intriguing scent.
The main purpose as to why there's a twin in a pot is because the light cream is for normal skin or the parts of the skin that needs less hydration and the rich cream is for the areas which are drier like my legs.  Both are great for hydration without so much stickiness unless the temperature goes up to 30 degrees celsius.  I couldn't have asks for more...except maybe, well just wondering why this one is way way pricier here than in other countries.  By the way, Acai is said to have hi content of antioxidants.

FULL INGREDIENTS
Water (Solvent/Diluent), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) (Skin-Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Isododecane (Solvent), Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate (Skin Conditioning Agent - Emollient), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Beeswax (Emulsifier/Emollient), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil (Emollient), Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil (Emollient), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Fragrance (Fragrance), Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/Hexastearate/Hexarosinate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Phenethyl Alcohol (Fragrance Ingredient), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Propylene Glycol (Humectant), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract (Hair Conditioning Agent), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Hydroxycitronellal (Fragrance Ingredient), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Ethylhexylglycerin (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient). [May Contain: Red 33 (Colour), Yellow 5 (Colour)].

Hmmm, so short, okay I'll just share with you then my current shower buddy.  If I only have a bathtub then maybe I'm halfway through this but I don't have one and I only need few drops to set bubbles on fire with this one.  Meet my bubble maker, Moringa Foaming Bath.
Moringa Foaming Bath
This luxurious foaming bath contains real moringa seed oil. The rich lather cleanses and moisturises skin. Moisturing,Cleansing,Delicate floral scent
P595
Based on The Body Shop website pour generously in running water, I say pour it directly to a sponge or a bath lily and enjoy a bath full of bubbles and feel like a kid though the smell would be weird for a kid.  My sister don't like the scent of this one which is awkward when I said that I like it.  I smell flowers, she smells my good old mom.  The flower smell is strong though and will never use the perfume of this one and hope the body butter and lotion too unless necessary.
The foaming bath cleanses and moisturize well and it's soap free (good news to those who don't loke soaps) and contains real moringa seed oil.  Moringa seed oil comes from a moringa tree...TREE?  I thought???..wait a minute (type in the computer...search...searching) oh this is hard, they just refer to it as Moringa and Wikipedia said the size ranges is from tinhy herbs to massive trees.  We have a bunch of Moringa in our backward back home and for us it's a grass that can be use in cooking and well I made a mask out of it's leaves.  Reading the nutritional and medicinal value of Moringa leaves would not raise a question mark on my head as to why it's called The Tree of Life, google it and you'll be amazed.  But how about the oil?  I'm no expert so I'll just rely on this article from www.edlagman.com.  The below part attracted me:

"Moringa seed oil contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which help heal minor skin complaints such as cuts, bruises, burns, insect bites, rashes and scrapes quickly The addition of Moringa seed oil produces a rich and creamy lather and, unlike any other plant-based oil, actually increases the cleansing ability. It clears pimples and prevents recurrence, if used regularly; it removes wrinkles and will prevent; sagging of facial muscles; helps clears black heads and spots; makes face glow and helps to tighten the skin pores."~www.edlagman.com

Now I wonder why this oil is not so popular here in the Philippines since Moringa is all over the place?  Although there's some who sells it online and TBS too, I hopw it would also go to the shelves of big department stores or groceries and maybe export it?  I'm clueless, let's just move on and get back to the foaming bath.
as always, it's made with passion

FULL INGREDIENTS
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PPG-5 Laureth-5, Acrylates Copolymer, Myristamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Parfum, Sodium Cocoa Butter Amphoacetate, Phenethyl Alcohol, Moringa Pterygosperma Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, p-Anisic Acid, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Sodium Hydroxide, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol, C11-15 Pareth-40, C11-15 Pareth-7, Tocopherol, CI 19140.

Woot, woot!  The word Moringa is visible.  I look into some of TBS products that I have and scrutinize the listed ingredients and sometimes I cannot pinpoint the main ingredient that is on the picture of the labels.  Overall, great foaming bath with a good price (usually on sale).  Now I have to find that oil (the cheap one please!)

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost

Vitamin C nowadays does not only be taken orally but is now used topically.  Products with vitamin c promises to give brighter complexion and when it comes to brightening dull complexion, I'm alert.  Well not alert enough because again, I got the wrong product.  I wanted a serum but got the Skin Boost instead from The Body Shop.
The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost
Create instant smoothing radiance with a silky smooth finish. It's an ideal skin pick-me-up to enhance your glow and our favorite Vitamin C product!
For Dull Skin
$27
If you want your skin to have a sheer glow effect without the oily feeling, then this probably is the best product for you unless you want to shine like a diamond like the vampires in Stephanie Myers eyes.  It gives a sheer brightening effect without the oily look and effect.  It works well with my sister's oily skin so this is for all skin type.

FULL INGREDIENTS
Cyclopentasiloxane (Skin-Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Cyclohexasiloxane (Conditioning Agent), Dimethicone Crosspolymer (Emulsion Stabilizer), Synthetic Fluorphlogopite (Viscosity Increasing Agent), HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer (Anticaking Agent), Fragrance (Fragrance), Ascorbic Acid (Antioxidant), Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil (Emollient), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Glycerin (Humectant), Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate (Skin-Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Polysilicone-11 (Film Former), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Silica (Absorbent), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Water (Solvent/Diluent), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Mica (Opacifier), Titanium Dioxide (Colour).

HOW TO USE
Apply in an upward, circular motion after moisturizing for a smooth base and a healthy-looking glow.
photo from thechalkboardmag.com
According to nyaproductreviewer.com: "Camu Camu; aka Myrciaria dubia, is a tree that is indigenous to the Amazon Rain Forrest.  The red fruit from the Camu Camu has some amazing beautifying properties such as "producing the highest source of naturally-occurring vitamin C – thirty times more than an orange – and ten times as much iron, three times as much niacin, twice as much riboflavin, and fifty percent more phosphorus. It is a significant source of potassium, minerals, and amino acids, and supports your skin's elasticity, reduces pore size, and offers powerful anti-aging benefits."
as applied in my arms
It's not very visible in the picture but it does really gives my skin an instant sheer radiance in person and really smoothen my face every time I use it (I can't help touching my face).

The packaging is compact and doesn't take a huge space in my bag and no spilleage too since it's comes with a plastic cap.  The nozzle of the pump has good quality:  I can totally control the amount to be dispense.  Half pump is enough to cover my face and neck but I would sometimes go for a full pump for that extra glow in my cheeks and forehead.  The smell is also pleasant:  citrusy and refreshing.

The 30ml of this Vitamin C Skin Boost goes a long way, probably around 3 months if use on a daily basis.  I stopped using bb cream (although I'm going to use a bb cream with spf this summer for protection) because even if it doesn't have any coverage, it makes my skin look smooth and I'm satisfied with it's brightening effect.  The SA who assisted me said that this product can also be use as a make base.  Nothing much to complain except maybe for the price, I got it on sale but it's still expensive for an ordinary office employee like me.  Anyway, it's a very good product for me.

Tried any vitamin c based products lately?

The Body Shop White Musk Chiffon Sheer Body Mist

One of the good "bought by mistake" products that I have is this White Musk Chiffon Sheer Body Mist from The Body Shop.  I wanted to buy the chocomania set when I went to The Body Shop some time in December but dang it's out of stock.  Pissed, I just pick a violet box out of a whim and White Musk Chiffon Sheer Body Mist is one of the items that is included in the pretty violet box.
White Musk Chiffon Sheer Body Mist
100ml
A light and refreshing, non-greasy body spray that leaves the skin subtly scented with the classic soft and floral White Musk fragrance.

FULL INGREDIENTS
Alcohol Denat., Water, Fragrance, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, t-Butyl Alcohol,
Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hydroxycitronellal, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Benzoate, Denatonium Benzoate, Isoeugenol, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol, Evernia Prunastri (Oak Moss) Extract, Benzyl Alcohol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Eugenol, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Cinnamate, Limonene, Farnesol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Cinnamal, Citral.

It says in The Body Shop USA website that this mist contains musk, lily, ylang ylang, hints of basil, jasmine, rose, iris, amber, patchouli, hints of peach, oakmoss and vanilla.  I can't distinguish which is which but the combination of all these ingredients is love!  It's delictable, sensual and strong but not overpowering.  I don't typically use this mist as a mist though, I use it as a cologne because I'm allergic to many things and don't want to directly spray it on my skin besides the automizer of this mist is not so good that it sprays droplets of liquid rather than a mist.  I just put 2 spritz on the palm of my hands then on my clothes and sometimes even on my hair.

HOW TO USE
Spray onto skin after a bath or shower, or as often as required.  Layer the White Musk fragrance by using our other products within the range for you and your home.

This body mist doesn't provide any smoothening, silkening, or moisturizing effect; just the lovely scent that stays for a long time even if I already wash my hands.

Are you using a body mist?  Share your favorite!

So it doesn't smell like a real cucumber.  It's more like a freshly cut grass and some may find the smell overpowering but I already got used to it and more than a month of using it, I can now smell the cucumber.  The Body Shop Cucumber Cleansing Milk has a light green shade with a lotion consistency and also feels like a lotion when applied but it's not the greasy lotion type.
very light pastel green in color
Even if it doesn't produce bubbles, this cleansing milk mildly cleanse and moisturize and freshens my face just like what it says in the description.  I use this day and night and for 7 weeks I never had a major breakout even on my red days (usually the day my huge pimples appear).

I use this by spreading around 3 pea size of the cleansing milk then massaging my face for about 5 minutes (this method is more relaxing and enjoyable) then rinse with tepid water.  Although I use a different cleanser when I wear a bb cream, it says in The Body Shop description that it can remove make-up (if used as describes from the brand's website).

HOW TO USE?
Massage a small amount into skin and wipe away with a cotton wool pad. If product gets into eyes, rinse with clean water.

I used this one time as instructed when I applied a bb cream on my face.  And the result...
bb cream + dirt
So it can really remove make-up (not sure with other kinds of make-up like mascara and eyeliner) although I have to splash water after an hour because my face; although soft and feels light' is not smooth with the cleansing milk on.  I used toner in cotton pads afterwards and there's no bb cream residue left.  Mistakenly buying this is a good choice.

The Body Shop Shea Shower, Scrub & Moisture Set

One of the items that I got out of an impulse because it's on sale is The Body Shop's Shea Travel Set.  This is one of the first few items that I bought from The Body Shop last year and yet it's only now that I'm using it.

First is the one that really got my attention: The Shea Body Scrub.  I'm just wondering why scrubs from The Body Shop are so expensive so one way to satisfy this curiosity is to buy a small one that is on sale.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Reveal softer, glowing skin with exfoliating salt grains and organic sugar in a moisturizing, oil-based scrub that has a fresh, classic scent. Community Trade shea butter has antioxidant vitamins A and E to help protect and nourish skin. Community Trade organic soy oil is very rich in essential fatty acids that help to repair skin’s moisture barrier, so skin is smooth and supple. Community Trade organic sugar and salt grains gently exfoliate skin.
Full Ingredients
Octyl Palmitate, Sodium Chloride, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sucrose, Silica, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Ricinus Communis (Castor Seed) Oil, Tocopherol, Linalool, Coumarin, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Propylparaben, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Citronellol, Citral, Geraniol, Eugenol, Titanium Dioxide.
HOW TO USE
Massage in circular movements over your body while in the bath or shower to help remove dead skin cells and boost circulation.
Think of a petroleum jelly combined with salt so that you can imagine what this product looks like.  I'm a 50/50 on the scent because it really smells like a petroleum jelly with shea body butter.  I applied this on a wet skin the first time that I used it but doesn't really worked well in the sense that the scrub just slides.  So for the second time around, I worked with a dry skin and poof, perfect!  It has a mild exfoliation that leaves my skin soft and smooth.  The scrub turns milky when rinsed and leaves a barrier of moisture that makes me uncorfortable so I have to at least use a mild cleanser to remove the excess "grease"

Next is the Shea Shower Cream which I am not really liking.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Spoil your skin with a moisturizing, soap-free cleanser full of rich, creamy, skin-softening lather and a classic, clean scent.
FULL INGREDIENTS
Water, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG-5 Cocamide, Coco-Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Tocopherol, Coumarin, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Citral, Geraniol, Eugenol, Caramel, Yellow 6.
HOW TO USE
Squeeze onto the palms of your hands or The Body Shop Bath Lily and massage over your body.
This shower cream I think is so mild it doesn't bubble which leaves my mind thinking if I really got a shower.  Now think of a liquid foundation added with a little more water for its consistency.  The scent is like a mixture of shea body butter combimed with cooking oil.

So I'm doubting its cleansing power and its smell but I can't question its moisturization effect because it does makes my skin moisturize and a light lotion is just what I needed when I use this.

Loving the old one rather than the newer one is the Shea Body Butter.

(Emollient), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Cyclopentasiloxane (Emollient), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Lanolin Alcohol (Stabiliser/Emollient), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Fragrance (Fragrance), Methylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Caramel (Colour), Yellow 5 (Colour).

TIPS
Cleanse with Cocoa Butter Creamy Body Wash. Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells using Cocoa Butter Body Scrub before moisturizing with Cocoa Butter Body Butter. Great for pregnant women. Smooth over the bump when skin feels tight and stretched.
Also included in the set is a body butter and a bath lily.  The bath lily has a good quality: soft and smooth yet tough on dirt!  I already made a review of the shea body butter with the new packaging but the old one in my opinion has a better consistency.  It's thick but it glides smoothly on my skin unlike the one with the new packaging that clumps and needs to be spread first in my palm.  I should have hoarded tons of the old ones when they went on sale.

Oh by the way, the original price of the mini set is P995.  Product description used in this post can be found in http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/

The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss

One of my favorite scent: VANILLA.  I got the Vanilla Joy boxed set last November 2012 because of it's smell.  Love at first sniff I say!
small shower gel, body butter and a bath lily
Too bad I din't get the big versions of the shower gel and body butter when they went on sale.  I wanted to smell the vanilla all year round.
I couldn't believe that that thing above is a gel because it's creamy.  The Vanilla Joy shower gel bubbles really good and make my skin a little softer in an instant.  The scent stays too even if I leave the bathroom.

Ahhh this one is like a comfort food to me:  it looks and smells like a pudding I wanted to taste it (drools).  But the most important factor why I love Vanilla Bliss body butter is because it smoothens my skin without the sticky feeling though I need to reapply as hours pass by.

Haven't use the bath lily (I accumulated like 4 bath lily's because of the sets that I bought)  but based on the "feel when I touched" I like better the ones that I got from the White Mush and Shea Set.

Very short post.  Not much to say since I think I already said everything on the Cranberry Joy post which you can find here.

The Gingerbread Polisher

It's not holiday season anymore but who can resist the Gingerbread in the below photo?  And a product that has dual purpose?  It's my first time to use a body polish and I think it's great move that I bought enough for me to use up to at least the mid of the year.
The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle
And here's the ingredients from The Body Shop website
gel type with small scrub particles
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This limited-edition, festive body exfoliator is gentle enough to use every day. It removes dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling softer and smoother, and has a zingy ginger fragrance
  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
  • Zingy ginger scent
  • Limited edition
The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle has a refreshing cola and ginger smell, it's actually fun to bathe with this.  It has small particles of ginger and walnut (if I'm not mistaken) that lightly exfoliate plus it gives enough bubbles to clean my skin which is perfect on days when I'm in a hurry (which is usually 5 times a week, yikes!).  If you opt to have a splendid bubblebath, then better use it with a bath lily.

What's more to love is that I got this at half the price!!!
