The Body Shop Shea Body Whip and Olive Shower Gel

Lately, my skin has been very calm: there's no itchiness, no new wounds and scars...it's just silently recovering and I think part of this nice recovery is these two from The Body Shop.

The Body Shop Shea Body Whip
This is a kind of lotion that I can wear on summer days without worrying that I'll be greasy because it's light just like the whip cream version of heavy creams.  My skin easily absorbs it but doesn't compromise the moisturizing goodness of shea making my skin really soft and smooth (I know I already reviewed tons of lotions and say the same thing but this one tops them all).  I also like that this one has a lighter nutty smell compared with it's body butter sister and most of the time last the whole day/night.

The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel
It cleans and bubbles well without making my skin feel tight after every bath but why does it smell like moringga with olive...I just hate the combo and it's too overpowering.  Aside from the "bad smell", my skin loves it and use it alternately with the Cetaphil cleanser.

This is very short, but at least I think I covered the basics :)  no need for extra schmanciness.

The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss

One of my favorite scent: VANILLA.  I got the Vanilla Joy boxed set last November 2012 because of it's smell.  Love at first sniff I say!
small shower gel, body butter and a bath lily
Too bad I din't get the big versions of the shower gel and body butter when they went on sale.  I wanted to smell the vanilla all year round.
I couldn't believe that that thing above is a gel because it's creamy.  The Vanilla Joy shower gel bubbles really good and make my skin a little softer in an instant.  The scent stays too even if I leave the bathroom.

Ahhh this one is like a comfort food to me:  it looks and smells like a pudding I wanted to taste it (drools).  But the most important factor why I love Vanilla Bliss body butter is because it smoothens my skin without the sticky feeling though I need to reapply as hours pass by.

Haven't use the bath lily (I accumulated like 4 bath lily's because of the sets that I bought)  but based on the "feel when I touched" I like better the ones that I got from the White Mush and Shea Set.

Very short post.  Not much to say since I think I already said everything on the Cranberry Joy post which you can find here.

Thanks for reading.  Till then.  Bye!

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy

As early as the third of November, I already want to feel Christmas.  So aside from shopping ( both actual and window shopping), I also use products that are "limited" for the season and opened the cute boxed set of The Body Shop' Cranberry Joy.
Cranberry Joy Set
The set includes a shower gel, body butter and a  bath lily in red.  The box too is in red with golden snowflakes printed all over.
60ml (2.0 US FL OZ)
Cranberry Joy Shower Gel
Well, I've never seen or smell a real cranberry but the smell of Cranberry Joy shower gel reminds me of a four season drink: maybe remove the guava part and replaced it with cranberry?  Not sure, but it does really remind me of a four season drink that is more dramatic/succulent rather than fruity.  It lathers really well especially when used with a bath lily/body sponge and amazingly makes my skin a little silkier and smoother.
50 ml (1.6 OZ, 48g
Cranberry Joy Body Butter
Cranberry Joy body butter is like a soft-served strawberry ice cream that melts in my skin! (no joke whatsoever).  It makes my skin instantly soft and silky and I don't why or what's the reason behind the small miracle.  Anyway, reapplication is needed when in a cold place because it's moisturization effect is lighter than the olive or shea body butter.  The smell of this one is like of a strawberry jam (I thought of Baguio when I first opened this): sweet, citrusy but with a little bit of rum.  The scent lingers on my skin and maybe a bit weird the first few days that I used it but I begun to be accustomed with it's smell and love it now.

I love this shower gel and body butter and since it's in a christmas-sy box, I think it's a perfect gift to give to a person who loves bath and moisture (like me) though I think it's a little pricey (I actually did my best to convince my friend to buy too so we can get another set for free).  Another thing to love is that they are in smaller versions so I don't have to spend a lot just for the joy of sampling The Body Shop's christmas limited edition products.

Thanks for reading.  Till then.  Bye!

Aloe Vera 90% Body Shower Gel

So I got this body wash/shower gel by mistake.  After just one and a half hours of sleep and a long travel going to a place where almost all skincare products are present, my friend and I decided to visit Nature Republic (me because I need an Aloe Gel and friend because of JGS) after attending an event.  It's August, it's rainy yet I'm having very dry skin so I decided to also to grab an aloe body cream and I did, well that's what I thought because when I got home I found this body gel in my shopping bag instead.
Nature Republic Soothing and Moisture Aloe Vera 90% Body Shower Gel
here's a closer look
If you are familiar with Nature Republic's Aloe Gel (review here) then this shower gel is almost the same with the aloe gel only this one lathers though not as bubbly as Nature Republic's Morning Fruits series.  It has an aloe smell, it has the aloe cooling effect and also have the light moisture just like the aloe gel (so lotion/body cream is still needed if you have dry to very dry skin).  It has a California Certified Organic Farmers seal meaning the aloe used is organic and I also don't see any kind of paraben in the ingredients' list.
description + directions on how to use + cautions + ingredients
I always have to used body sponge for me to get some or use a lot of this shower gel to produce lots of bubbles so 150ml of this product is good for around 1 to 1 and 1/2 months. Also; although the container is better than the Morning Fruits', the gel is leaking.  Really, Nature Republic should fix the caps of their shower gels.
just in case you are curious as to how this gel looks like
It's a good product and I'm thinking that this is perfect for summer together with the aloe gel and body cream.  The lightweight and freshness it gives makes it perfect for hot weather.

Nature Republic's Morning Fruits Peach Shower Gel & Body Lotion

Aside from coffee, another way to perk up a morning is the smell of something fresh like fruits.  And so added to my bath buddies are the Morning Fruits Shower Gel and it's partner Morning Fruits Body Lotion.
photo from Nature Republic Philippines' facebook page
There are 5 variants in the Morning Fruits line:  Blueberry, Grapefruit, Orange, Peach and Grape.
Peach can brighten? That's what the Peach variant claims: "For Brightening the Skin" and so, since my skin is pale and dull it got me thinking that the two can help in illuminating it.
Shower Gel 180ml
Body Lotion 150ml
I use the two in the morning and since I started to avoid coffee, the smell of peach somehow help me to awaken my senses; sweet peach scent but not overpowering.   They both have milky peach color and keeps my skin soft and well moisturize without the sticky feeling.  Not sure though if the brightening effect is instant or will be achieve in the long run.  But I think its more of the former as I noticed some glittering particles on my skin (few minutes after application of lotion) under the light but vanishes at the end of the day.
Not bad for P220 (each).  I'll try the Grape next time.

Thanks for reading.  Till then.  Bye!

Oh, i forgot about the cap.  I hope Nature Republic fix this.
