April 2014: And It Goes On and On and On

Here and there I've been hauling different kinds of things that may not even work.  They accumulated and my mini department store bore 3 mini branches and then one day I just look into them and their topsy turviness just makes me nuts.  So aside from the clothes and book section, I also started looking into my "beauty" stash and decided to get rid or give products/things that I haven't used for quite sometime or just stuff that is not working for me anymore.  I already started last month with my March 2014: Let It Go post which resulted into the disappearance of 1 branch and I'm continuing it until my mini department store is half full and there's 1 mini branch left.  I will also be sharing my empties, as usual :)

It seems like lotions with whitening ingredients makes my skin go berserk and that is just sad because I remember liking the Nivea UV Whitening Serum before as it's light and moisturizing enough with just the right SPF, so sad that I have to let this go but thankfully my niece like it so I'm giving it to her.

Definitely going to the trash are the Betadine Feminine Wash  because, yes it does really clean the part down there when I have period but it's so drying actually all the feminine wash that I tried do not work well for me so I'll just stop the hunt then I got a whitening soap, the C.Y. Gabriel Pink variant to lighten the scars on my legs as it helped me when I was younger but it does more damage now than helping so I'll just have to throw it.

Last two items to throw are the Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base because I think it's already expired I mean a year has already passed since I started using it, anyway I still have 1 make-up base that works like this in my stash and then I also have to throw the Essence Mosaic Compact Powder.  I really can't finish a make-up, please forgive me.

This month I hit pan a lot of products.
It took me what like 5 months??? before I could finish the Watsons Conditioner and I still have another bottle which I will use as a base to my diy hair mask and as a shaving cream.  The familiar 15 ml Laneige Water Bank Essence (a deluxe sample size) that lasts for 3 weeks is also part of this family of empties and the new favorite cleanser, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser which I can use all over my body (even my hair sometimes, crazy I know).  Still have some of the Lacvert Pure Deep Cleansing Oil but I'll just include it in this empties round since I think I can only use the remaining twice?  Anyway I have and been using this cleansing oil for more than 6 months I think and I like it!

You already know how I love Nature Republic's Aloe Gel, so there it is lying empty beside The Body Shop's Vitamin E Body Butter (which is the last body butter I have from the many body butters that I hoarded from TBS) with the well loved Apple Blossom Shower Gel and Body Lotion both of which have a very lovely and refreshing apple smell!

Oh by the way, new to my sidebar is an amazon widget where I list some of my favorites!

Thanks for reading. Till then. Bye!

November 2013: Clueless?

It's already been four hours since I started to type something about my tea time and me being an introvert but all I have is a single sentence then blank...maybe I'm just enjoying listening to Metric's Blindness and The Killers' Just Another Girl which kind of depresses me because the video is like a goodbye forever from them.

Clueless! Yes, I'm a clueless man right now as I still don't know what to do or how to act or whatever...it'll be Christmas in just a couple of days and then goodbye 2013 and it seems like I haven't done anything significant.

Speaking of Christmas, here are four items that are on my wishlist:

O.S.T. Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum (source)/ Forever 21 Secret Rebel Combat Boots (source)/ Tokyo Love Soap (source)/ Diana Mini (source)

Been hearing a lot of good reviews about the O.S.T. Vitamin C Serum which is known as the brown bottle in Korea and I'm liking that it can brighten and help lightens pigmentation of the skin and yes my obsession I guess for brighter skin is coming back and would also like to get my hands on Tokyo Love Soap to make my skin looking flawless because I just have tons of scars all over my body because of my allergy and this soap is as they say just do the job though I'm hesitant to shell out more than 500 bucks for just a bar of soap.

I'm also dying to have a pair of boots although I don't know how to rock it plus the price of the one in the picture in the Philippines is almost twice than what is on forever21.com price.

I still haven't haven't decided whether to get a diana or la sardina but I guess it doesn't matter right now because I just spent 75% of my "toy" budget to Forever21 last friday.  I guess I'll stick with my Superheadz for the meantime, but if anyone out there wanted to sell their old lomo cam for a very affordable price then let me know ;)

my favorite treats

For this month of November I'm just loving the comfort that Griffins Mint Treat Mint Flavoured Biscuits is giving me.  This one is a biscuit top with mint filling then the two are covered in chocolate, simply yummy.  I buy this biscuit in SM for P99 and I will try the other biscuits from Griffins soon.

I generally like macadamia nuts covered in chocolate and I'm just so happy that my sister and brother in law gave me Hawaiin King Milk Chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts as a pasalubong.  I also like the one from Guam, forgot the name of the brand but it doesn't matter as long as it's macadamia in chocolate then I'm a happy kid :D (kinikilig mga ngipin ko)

And my hit pans.

white musk, collagen and lotion

There's actually a few products left on the containers but they are good for around 3 times so I'll just include them on my November empties.  You can find my The Body Shop White Musk post here and here for the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream which is by the way a dupe for Clinique's Moisture Surge (well that's what they say).

And lastly music.  I'm listening to many "old" songs lately not that they are old to hear but they are from the 80's or 90's yet they are like awesome (I don't know how to describe them best) but I have to give this month to Yolanda Moon.  Yup, Yolanda and I have to admit that I feel guilty of remembering the band because of the typhoon (bless and help the victims) and I'm very surprised when the band favorited my tweet about it  (sorry guys).

I first heard Yolanda Moon on Jam88.3 last year and their laid-back, soothing sound just catches me.  They are known for SmallTalk but the song that really attracted me to them is 73.

Check out their cool video:

Happy Holidays!

October 2013: The Rise of the Blog

During All Saints or All Souls Day (sometimes both), by the time that the night bites the rays of the sun our family light candles all over our yard and home (around 15 to 20 candles), our neighbors too (and probably our whole barangay although not as much as the candles that we light but most put the candles in their gates) do the same thing and the street in the province that I live in just look pretty with all the candles around.  Most of the time too we make this foggy/smokey effect (with the dried leaves and newly cut grass that my siblings collected and sometimes incense) and turn off the major lights in our house and from the outside our home (with the smokey and candles) look so magical but of course to others it's looks spooky.  *Sigh* a snippet of my childhood that I miss because I was in the office, working during November 1!!!

Hello everyone, I hope you had a blast with maybe all the halloween parties that you attended (hmmmp, I didn't attend one) and in just a couple of weeks it's Christmas/Holiday Season na (which means vacation time too and I badly need one). Now this October I'm just so amazed that I'm regularly (on a weekly basis) posting, just when I thought that by the end of the year this blog will totally shut down but nope it rises.

I know during month-end's I usually post what food that I like and other whatnots but I do not have any so I'll move on with my empties and soon to be empties.

my sister's really amazed at how I empty a lot of products

I'm just so happy that I made a blog post for all of these stuff which been rare of me lately but hell yeah I'm catching up with all the products that I have.  Except for the eye cream, I'm loving these products especially the Zenutrients Anti-Cellulite Oil because of it's soothing properties.  The products are (click product for links to my posts):

1 Etude House Nutrifull Shea Butter Sleeping Pack
2 Mizon Ultra Repair Wonder Eye Cream
3 The Body Shop Macadamia Body Butter Duo
4 Mizon Ultra Repair Wonder Cream
5 Zenutrients Anti-Cellulite Oil
6 The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Polish

Also in just maybe 3 to 5 uses or so, I'll also be emptying these products and will, I don't want to stock the containers in my already cluttered closet.  Anyway, I'm pretty sure that I'll be done dealing with these products before the week ends.

1 Hair Treats Hair Spa
2 Purebeauty Exfoliating Gel (review soon)
3 Za Total Hydration Dewy Moisturizer
4 TonyMoly Panda's Dream Good-Bye Dark Eye Corrector (i'm using it as a hand and foot cream now)
5 A generic sponge from Landmark

I also just keep on playing the songs that are on my phone which is weird for me because every now and then I keep on searching for songs that suits my mood/taste.  Anyway two songs of the The Killers (I know I keep on mentioning the band since last month) caught my attention when I saw their respective live versions.

The first one is A Dustland Fairytale.  I'm okay with this song when I first heard it and all I said was "nice...decent and clean"  I only appreciated it's meaning and connect with it when I'm pondering what to do with my life.  Totally fell in love with it when I watched the Abbey Road live version, my eyes just turned watery and feeling just keep on surging for so many reasons.  The song is actually very personal to Mr. Brandon Flowers because it's about his parents and about Nevada but the song is just so versatile that I guess anyone who'll hear it will have it's own interpretation and connection (I read some of the comments and I'm somehow right about this).  I wanted to share the video here but it's not allowed anymore, so just click on the links.

Strong and Magical!

"God gives us hope But we still fear what we don't know The mind is poison"

The next one is Sam's Town.  Now I hate this song when I first heard it..Still not into it the second time because it sounds too theatrics which I think is unnecessary but again as I go deep into the lyrics I started to get the song and has been in my fave playlist the fifth time I heard it.  I like to hear the live version and saw their Albert Hall concert on youtube and man it's as i f I'm transported and time-spaced in the hall and I started to sing as if I'm with the crowd and The Killers.

"Why do you waste my time?  Is the answer to the question on your mind  And I'm sick of all my judges  So scared of what they'll find But I know that I can make it..."

So have you ever seen the lights?

September 2013: Part 2

In my last post I've been fangirling crush-ing with The Killers (can't find any "cooler" word for it) because it just simply made my September and probably my first to third quarter  or maybe even my whole 2013 (I just love Brandon, I mean The Killers) and totally forgot posting my usual monthly stuff (although I don't know why I'm doing it).  By the way, I suddenly love the song The Way it Was because of the concert (I'm not into the song before but the live version is sooo good that it made me love it).

Let's start with food (yehey!).  I originally wanted to have a separate post for the foods that I tried and like this September and the first week of October but it'll just take time so why not just squeezed it in this post.

Mochi

I tried mochi ice cream before but not the mochi as in mochi plain so I'm happy that I can now buy them from the grocery.  The Ube flavored one are actually too sweet so it's perfect to pair it with bland or anti-sweet drinks like plain tea and black coffee.  A week after I bought the Ube flavored, the assorted pack came.  Not as good as the Ube one because of lack of filling and softness and the flavor are so artificial but if you just wanted to try different flavors then  go for this assorted pack.

again grocery stuff

Cream puffs are soooo like clouds but like the clouds that are so high, the price of this pastry(?) in specialty stores are so high that I wanted to cry after spending some handsome amount of moolah just to try them so the ones from Monde are good enough for me (even my chef brother likes it).  Tried the L.A. (low acid Coffee from Kopiko because I'm acidic, sadly it didn't satisfy my coffee craving.  Then Cheezy Corn Crunch which is a dupe for Cheetos has a new variant Buffalo Wings which is perfect I guess for Filipinos because it has the combination of sweet, salty and a little spicy to it (almost all the "all time Filipino foods" has this taste combo, right?)

toasted mamon
Next are these toasted mamon recommended by my sister.  I love how light and crunchy it is plus it has an extra sweetness on top because of the condensed milk...Yummy, it just simply satisfy my sweet and crunchy craving everytime I'm stressed.

buko pie and cassava cake for the fist week of October
Just went to Laguna this weekend to unwind with some friends and officemates (gladly, I'm not drunk and I'm never been drunk although sometimes I pretend to be drunk *belat* and I only drink occasionally around once or twice a year sometimes never in a year) and I just have to have some pasalubong for my family and Laguna is known for it's buko pie.  Melgians's Sweet are not that known but the buko pie from them are actually good.  They use young coconut flesh that are so soft and the center of the pie have the natural sweetness of the coconut but as I bite more going to the outer side of the pie, I appreciate the flan like coconut that's getting sweeter and sweeter that will just satisfy my sweet palette at the end of the bite and it's filling too.  I also got a cassava cake which is always a favorite food of mine and I like that it just have the right sweetness and softness unlike the ones that I tasted here in Manila that the only soft and sweet part is the top that makes me want to throw the rest of the cake (but have to mournfully eat it because it's not good to waste food).

I also finally tried Vikings!!!  Can you believe that I walk around the resto taking photos?  Ahahaha but I always get a stare everytime I snap so almost all the photos that I took are from afar and are blurry.  Here's a sample.

don't touch my sushi's hand!!!

I am supposed to receive my order from Bae Lu this October but I ordered another item (it's an eyeliner and I am so excited about it) so I just ask her to not to shipped it to me (para tipid shipping) and wish granted.  I just have so many wishes and conditions that this seller grants that everytime I wanted a sale item from GMarket I always, as in immediately ask her if she could buy it for me and I always makes hirit for discount (well I usually buy in bulk so discount are always welcome.  Sadly her Facebook page with 6000+ likes got hacked so she made a new one so please like it too.  Bae Lu sells korean cosmetics and Forever 21 stuff.  You can check her page in https://www.facebook.com/baeluBFCuisine (there's still not much photos and whatnots in it but you can browse items from GMarket or Forever21 Korea site and just send it to her) and let her know that you knew her page from Arya De Guzman, malay niyo bigyan niya din kayo ng discount or sangkatutak na freebies  (who knows, she might give you discounts and many freebies).

Bae Lu  https://www.facebook.com/baeluBFCuisine

Of course my empties of the month would always be present.  The Missha facial wash and ZenNutrients balm are still on pending review plus hand lotions too grrr...I just can't find time and the right words to post nowadays *sigh* any suggestions on pumping ideas out of the brain?

September empties

For music, aside from The Killers (well, obviously I've been talking about them in my posts...hehehe) I'm also loving the sound of Silversun Pickups (thanks to Jam88.3 again for playing their music).  They are the band behind Panic Switch, The Pit and Lazy Eye.  It's weird hearing them the first time but the more I listen to them, the more I wanted more more more from them!!!!

Enjoy listening to Lazy Eye

That's it for my September.

April 2013 Empties: A little too late

Hello and yes, I'm still alive.  Just got out of the city for a couple of days and have been busy with work and cleaning at home at haven't have much time to open a computer to blog and before I knew it, it's already May.  Como vuela el tiempo, indeed  i(t's that only phrase that I remember from my spanish class).

I'm temporarily broke, but by temporary I mean my earnings equates my expenses which is bad because I have no savings for my future life and travel.  The culprits to this expenses are electricity bill (it skyrocketed!!!), food and hording of products especially now that I'm exploring make-up and so posting my monthly empties is a must for monitoring basis.  Not much for April but I'm looking forward for my May hit pan.
around 8 items in different size and shapes
Hooray for finally emptying the Skin Malguem after almost a year and really happy to finally throwing the Calgon body spray since it's been in my bag for 3+ years (it's a gift from my brother's ex hihihi).  Another gift is the Victoria Secrets lotion.  Love the smell but it's just sticky so it took me awhile to finish using it.
I don't think Belo can touch every skin
While other Filipinos are raving about Belo, I on the other is starting to hate it and I'm throwing my first ever Belo item which is a deodorant.  At first I'm like oh it's cute and it's really a good anti-perspirant but then it dried and made my armpits itchy so I'm throwing it.  Last minute change of mind for the Lip Ice since it looks good on my cheeks.

Blurry pictures, I don't know what's wrong with my phone's camera application T_T

March 2013 Empties: Firs Qtr Done + a little sacrifice

First Quarter of the year:  Done!  And I haven't accomplished anything important in my life booo me.  Anyway I still have 2 quarters left and so are you so we still have time to accomplish our goals.

For March, I emptied a lot of samples and my pocket too hehehe.  I made a lot of online purchases and I still haven't emptied or even used all the products that I bought last year like my Tomatox and Appletox which will expire in May (yikes, must use it next month).

Anyway here are my empties plus to throw *sigh* expired na kasi.  And the photos are a little vintage~gy and I'm loving it!
Add caption
I was really surprised with the Shieseido because I used it for the whole month and to think it's just a sample so thanks very much to Sample Room.  Reviews can be found here: 1/2/3/4/5
to throw
I also emptied another Nature Republic Aloe Gel.  Before, I used the tub as a container to my abubots (knickknacks) now I'll use it as a money container.  So what's with the "a little sacrifice thing" and how it's related to the tub?  Well I come to a realization that the main cause of my excess fat is sweets.  I always buy sweet, seven days of the week.  This will be a little hard for me since I have a sweet tooth and would rather eat sweets all day than eat a proper meal but it's to make a little change in my life.  Well weekends would still be the same but on weekdays; instead of me buying desserts every after meal, I will put P25 in the tub and if ever that I'll break this rule I'll put P50 instead.  Proceeds will go to a church near us who is collecting donation to feed  the hungry or to my friend who also volunteer to feed the hungry.  I will do this for at least 2 months and I know it's not much but I hope it would still help.  Now, aside from sweets I will also do my best to be early and catch the company van to save fare.  Proceeds to this part will go to my toy camera fund (sorry, I wanted another cheap one) and to the sweet fund.  Hope everything will work out.
I present to you the tub with a not so artistic lettering

February 2013 empties: Throwing some love

Finally, finally finally,: I'm starting to finish the products that I bought second or third quarter of 2012 and won't worry much about most of them getting expired and being dumped into the garbage bin (it must be heartbreaking  for them if they have feelings).

Let's start with what I splatter in my maarteng face (face, why are you so dry and sensitive?)
The Face Shop, Etude House, Celeteque
The Face Shop Lovely me:ex Waterful Grapefruit Mask tub is just really kawaii!!!  I'm not much into the smell but it's good in smoothening my skin I just hope it can be use on a daily basis though.  I did everything to lengthen the life of Etude House Collagen Moistfull cream but it's time to let go, bought another tub anyway.

Review post can  be found here: 1/2/3 ahhh it's in Sample Room website ^_^

Next is for the body which are all from The Body Shop.  It's actually a set.
The Body Shop Shea Body Butter mini set
Out of three, I like the scrub: it's mild and moisturizing but because it's mild I sometime think that I didn't scrub at all.  Anyway my post on these three can be found in this link.

That's all for now.

Thanks for reading. Till then. Bye!
